"Technology can be a powerful tool for transforming learning. It can help affirm and advance relationships between educators and students, reinvent our approaches to learning and collaboration, shrink long-standing equity and accessibility gaps, and adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners" (2016 National Education Technology Plan, p. 1).

As an Assistant Professor of Learning Technology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, my research, practice, and service revolve around the use of technology to enrich the learning experiences of educators and students alike. While technology might be considered "just a tool," in the hands of a creative educator, technology can offer learning experiences that reach beyond our imagination and prepare us for the exciting, yet unpredictable, future.

Professional Learning Networks: My research focuses on how teachers use social networking sites and web-based tools to expand their opportunities for collaborative learning beyond their local work contexts.

3D Printing & Makerspaces: I also study how teachers learn to leverage new technologies to redesign education.
